Greetings and salutations my little angels! It’s Monday, I have a doctor’s appointment today, and Ellie has returned to the Empire State after a month in Michigan—womp womp.
Instead of wallowing over what feels like the end of summer vacation, I’ll just take a second to reflect on the fact that it’s been a year of Who’s To Say!! ICYMI: you can read more of my thoughts on that (and about the glory that is August) in our most recent newsletter, and we’ve got a fun little surprise in store for you tomorrow to celebrate!
I’m actually incredibly excited about some of the changes and new things we have lined up for W2S year two, but I can’t really share about them now, so here’s a little treat to tide you over:
Why? Who’s to say!
What have you been listening to?
Not to be an unironic recession-indicator, but I’ve somehow only been listening to early 00s rap, classic rock I only know from driving around with my dad, and Froggy Fresh. I didn’t want this to be true, but my Spotify Daylist the other day was literally titled “Fraternity School Dance Friday Morning” and I simply couldn’t make that up!
Have you been watching anything good on TV or at the movies?
Just more of the same from the last time we spoke, so not really. But I have been watching my own Instagram Story over and over again, like any girl would. (There’s nothing to speak of on it right now, but ngl, I did post a pretty good End-of-July photo carousel the other day:

Have you made any exciting purchases lately?
Yes! Not only did I fall into the classic summer trap of buying new beach towels I don’t need, but I also have somehow purchased two (actually four if you include video) new games this week??? More on that in the existential crisis section…

The tiny cribbage board is foldable and perfect and its pegs have an excellent weight to them. Now I just have to re-learn how to play and pony up to a bar booth for a few hours. PIT is a game I remember my parents playing and when I saw this vintage version on Etsy, I could not resist it’s siren song. I loved it so much!
Any existential crises lately?
Yes again! It seems that somehow, in an attempt to relate to my boyfriend—a boy who loves games—I—a girl who historically hates games—have become somewhat obsessed with finding games I like?
As I said, this started as a way to increase the amount of activities we could do together (see: Magic the Gathering), but now it has become the worst thing for me: a new thing to shop for. Are there worse things, absolutely (and in fact, I feel really guilty for not talking about just how many more worse things there are), but it has nonetheless made me confront my own mutability. I love that I am ever-changing and contain multitudes, but it always feels unsettling to believe something about yourself for so long and come to find out it’s just not as true as you thought! So anyway, I’ve found that I really do like games, they just have to be simple. And preferably portable and playable at a bar/restaurant table….
What’s inspiring you lately?
Warm greens and summer evenings—same as it ever was:
In addition, I have also been so inspired interior design-wise, but mostly by floor tile patterns! These are some of my recent saves:

What’s the best thing in your search history this week?
The term Morning Constitutional. Heard for the first time from an old man character in Yakuza 0, the video game. Turns out that means a morning walk for your health, but I learned shortly after via word-of-mouth that it’s also slang for taking your morning sh*t. 10/10, no notes. Hope to use it for the rest of my life.
Sleeper hit of the week?
Simple, but true, it was BeReal going off during mine and Dylan’s nightly table tennis match while Ellie was with us. Objectively, it looks like we’re having an insane time:

And that’s all from me this week! Bye now!

How has no one commented on the Braidy Bunch yet??? I hate it here!
