Writing this from the basement of a home that isn’t mine, mid-tornado warning, flanked by two huskies. If you’re reading this, and I have passed on, Ellie gets my clothes (and my phone).
What’s up?
A song by 4 Non Blondes that closed out drag brunch for my friend’s birthday. Also perfectly apt for how it feels to be an American with good moral fibre these days:
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside and I take a deep breath and I get real high and I — scream from the top of my lungs, “what’s going on?!”
Here’s a pic from the event, which I truly cannot get enough of:
What’s the best thing in your search history this week?
Probably “is moral fiber a thing, or did I make that up?” (which is how I knew to write ‘fibre’ above — note a typo, folks!)
What have you been working on?
I was talking about what I was going to write this week because I feel I have done so little, but I guess what I’ve really been doing is planning! Meal planning, planning a big spring clean/purge for the apartment, planning out all the Q2 To Dos, planning some new fun things for W2S (watch this space!!!), etc. Honestly, it’s amazing what a great form of hope planning for the future is amidst a world on fire. No, sorry, we can’t devolve completely into fascism then, I’ll actually be camping that weekend :/”
Speaking of Hope — found this little nugget inside a random book in a Little Free Library and it made my whole chest swell up:

And while you’re at it, you can have this too.
What are you looking forward to this week?
Hopefully getting some film back! I think the last time I had any of my film developed was September 2023, so there should be all kinds of goodies in there!
What’s inspiring you lately?
Have you made any exciting purchases?
Hell yeah, and it was four glasses of wine, a bowl of Castelvetrano olives, and some potato chips.
Sleeper hit of the week?
The circumstances of her being in town were not the greatest but we got to see Ellie!! Additionally, it ended up being a gorgeous day and 3/4 of us were successfully taught how to use an acorn as a whistle! What I’ve learned from this is that I should take Friday off more often, and Ellie should move home.
Bye now!
